She specialises in bioresonance health screening to investigate the  underlying factors for chronic conditions related to leaky gut, weakened immunity and autoimmune conditions such as chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, Lyme disease, M.E. and children with Autism Spectrum Conditions.

The Functional Medicine Approach

Conventional, Traditional or Allopathic medicine aims to identify WHAT you have, based on your symptoms and match a prescription to alleviate or suppress symptoms to reduce pain or suffering.

The functional medicine approach treats the person not the disease, so whilst you may have a diagnosis to tell you WHAT your diagnosis is, the functional medicine approach helps you understand WHY you may have been feeling unwell and WHY you have the symptoms you have.  It helps to identify the root cause and address the core imbalances and dysfunctions to help your body heal your health.

Kirsty uses breakthrough health screening technologies and the functional medicine 5R approach to health to uncover the hidden cause of why people feel the way they feel.  She takes great pride in delivering personalised treatment programs which rely on a range of natural therapies and modalities which are non-invasive, pain and drug-free to help her clients heal their health and strengthen their immunity.

In Functional Medicine, the 5R’s of the digestive tract are the foundation to establishing health and strengthening immunity.

  1. REMOVE
  2. REPLACE
  3. REINOCULATE
  4. REBALANCE
  5. REPAIR

1. Remove
Remove stressors: get rid of things that negatively affect the environment of the GI tract including allergic foods (gluten, dairy, corn, soy, eggs and sugar which can lead to food sensitivities), infections (parasites and ptential problematic bacteria or yeast), and gastric irritants like environmental toxins (chemicals, or heavy metals).

You don’t need the hassle, embarrassment or expense of a stool analysis, we use the ASYRA Pro to screen energetically.  This might involve using an allergy “elimination diet” and we use the ASYRA to find out your individual food sensitivities, so you don’t have to cut out whole food groups from your diet which can lead to nutrient deficiencies.

2. Replace
Replace digestive secretions: add back things like digestive enzymes, hydrochloric acid, and bile acids that are required for proper digestion and that may be compromised by diet, medications, diseases, aging, or other factors.

We use the ASYRA Pro to determine if you require any additional product support and find the right supplement and the correct usage.

3. Reinoculate
Help beneficial bacteria flourish by ingesting probiotic foods or supplements that contain the “good” GI bacteria such as bifidobacteria and lactobacillus species, and by consuming the high soluble fiber foods that good bugs like to eat, called prebiotics. n Probiotics are beneficial microorganisms found in the gut that are also called “friendly bacteria.” Use of antibiotics kills both good and bad bacteria. Probiotics in the form of supplements or food are often needed to help reestablish a balanced gut flora. Fermented foods, such as yogurt, miso, and tempeh are food sources of probiotics. n Prebiotics are food ingredients that selectively stimulate the growth of beneficial microorganisms already in the colon. In other words, prebiotics feed probiotics. Prebiotics are available in many foods that contain a fiber called inulin, including artichokes, garlic, leeks, onion, chicory, tofu, and other soy products. Grains such as barley, flax, oats, and wheat are also good sources of prebiotics. Another good prebiotic source is a supplement called “fructo-oligosaccharide” or FOS.

Again we use the ASYRA Pro to source a probiotic supplement that contains beneficial bacteria required.

4. Repair
Help the lining of the GI tract repair itself by supplying key nutrients that can often be in short supply in a compromised gut, such as zinc, antioxidants (e.g. vitamins A, C, and E), fish oil, and the amino acid glutamine, as well as herbs such as slippery elm and aloe vera.  Following the Leaky gut diet will provide most of the essential building blocks and we use the ASYRA Pro to check if they are any additional requirements.

5. Rebalance
Consider the other lifestyle choices which contribute to health: Sleep, exercise, and stress can all affect the GI tract. Balancing those activities is important to an optimal digestive tract.

Our Commitment to you

We strive to fully understand the needs and concerns of our clients and we will work closely with you to ensure you optimum health is restored.  To help ensure your health is improved, we offer extensive in-house real-time health screening and pride ourself in being able to provide natural therapeutic solutions in our customized treatment programs.  Helping you address your health challenges is our passion and number one priority and we are supported by some of the leading edge natural health care providers to do so.

What type of training have you received?

I am a functional medicine nutritionist and bio-resonance health screening practitioner.  As well as my University qualifications, which are grounded in food science, biochemistry, microbiology, and epidemiology,  I have received training in the biomedical and bioenergetic healing modalities with various leading natural health clinics in addition to extensive training in functional nutrition, neurology, GI tract, detoxification as well as the better known diagnosis hats of ‘Autism Spectrum Conditions’ and Lyme disease.

Are you a medical doctor?
No, I am a functional medicine nutritionist and bio-resonance health screening practitioner.  I am registered as a Nutritionist with the The Nutrition Society and a Nutritional Therapist with the FNTP and I am insured by Balens for all the modalities and health screening technologies I use.
Do you prescribe medications?
No. I do not prescribe or make recommendations about prescription medications or controlled substances. Your GP is your prescribing medical doctor who will manage all medications.  I use a range of natural, non-invasive, drug-free methods such as nutritional therapy, herbs, supplements, stress management techniques and lifestyle changes to address the underlying causes of disease and promote optimal function and health.
Do you diagnose symptoms?
No. I do not diagnose symptoms or make recommendations about a diagnosis. Your GP is your diagnosing medical doctor who will interpret your symptoms as a diagnosis.  I use the latest non-invasive health screening technology to identify the underlying causes of disease such as the core imbalances and dysfunctions and advise a complementary treatment plan alongside that of your GP to promote optimal health and vitality.
Do you accept health insurance?
No.  This type of treatment is above the standard of care, therefore must be covered on a private basis.   We do everything we can to make sure Functional Medicine approach is accessible to everyone!  By using our own real-time health screening technology, we negate the need to work with the labs and can save our clients a considerable amount of money and time that would have been spent on biomedical testing.  This allows us to focus on the solution to wellness.  All of our clients are working class, people with a desire to be their best health by understanding and correcting their underlying health challenges rahter than suppressing symptoms with medications.
Do you work outside of Gloucestershire?
Yes, I offer national consultation and health screening via telephone or Skype for those who can provide a hair or nail sample.  I can consult without health screening world wide.
How long will my treatment take?
This depends on several factors, including the complexity of your condition, how long you’ve had it, how much time, energy and attention you’re willing to devote to treatment, and how well you respond to treatment. In general, health programs for acute illnesses can take 1 to 3 appointments, whereas more chronic illnesses can take three to six months to start to feel a difference with maintenance for up to twelve months, but most clients will start to feel an  improvement within the first month.
How much will a functional medicine treatment approach cost?
We do not accept every patient. We only want to take on patients we believe we can improve their overall health. The application process would start with setting up an initial free webcam or phone evaluation and if we believe our approach can support your healing journey, we will advise you which of our health consultations is suitable for you.   The investment depends on several factors, including the complexity of your condition, the extent of health screening required, the combination of natural medicines and other therapies needed during treatment, and the number of consultations you receive. We do everything we can to make Functional Medicine affordable to the average person. Again, most if not all of our patients are normal, working class people who want to improve their health.
How do I find out if your approach can help my symptoms?

The best way to determine whether we can help is to schedule an initial free SKYPE or phone evaluation. This gives us an opportunity to learn more about your health challenges and goals, and gives you the chance to ask any questions you might have.  There’s no obligation.  Then we can find out if one of our full consultation is right for you.

During the comprehensive consultation with we would go over your health history in detail, and go over your previous lab work.   We then run our in-house real-time health screening protocols to understand where you are currently and what steps you need to take next.
